Cleaver-Brooks can modernize a university boiler system in two ways. First, it can retire the coal- or oil-fired equipment and replace it with a watertube, firetube or series of condensing hydronic systems. Second, it can convert the burner and upgrade the controls of an older system to burn natural gas. Either way, safety and reliability will increase, and emissions and operating costs will significantly decrease.
Our engineers can overcome the challenges of installing a new system for a boiler room from a bygone area. For example, our engineers have designed a system to fit inside a 1950s-era boiler room when three-pass boilers were standard. They also have vented boilers horizontally instead of vertically in tall plants to save on installation costs.
